Longtail donated by Thai Restaurant in HollandPhuket, 08 Sept 2005. Eduardo receives donation from Herbert Mendes (Left) and Mere Khon Tam (right) of Sukhothai Restaurant in Maastricht Holland.
Mr Mendes who has a home in Phuket and a long association with Thailand raised money from his customers who patronised his Thai restaurant in Masstricht.
"I love and respect Thailand. When I saw the devastation of the Tsunami, my heart went out to the many friends I have on the island, and I like many others wanted to help. When I heard what Eduardo was doing with the Longtail boats, I immediately offered my support. My customers were very generous and I thank them for their kindness" commented Herbert as he handed the donation over to Eduardo
"I am delighted to accept the donation. It is enough for another boat, which we hope to order in time for the return of the high season in November" said Eduardo.
