Rarely with any trust or charity will all money go to that specific need, most you will find have to deduct a percentage to be able to continue to run. Luckily the Thai Tsunami Long Tail Boat Relief Fund have a number of individuals who have dedicated their personal time and resources to this project allowing 100% of ALL money raised to go the people affected by the recent Asia Tsunami Disaster.
The Tsunami has affected many parts of Asia, in particular destroying the people's livelihoods and means to sustain their own existence by obliterating the main tool which will allow them to rebuild their lives. As many of the affected areas are fishing communities, the Long Tail Boat is key to a family's sustenance. Your donation, however small will go directly to replacing the many thousands of boats destroyed on December 26th 2004.
Each boat costs between £350 and £1,000 and will allow a single family to rebuild their lives and not rely on continued aid.
If a family had to pay for a £1,000 boat over a year, they would be paying £19.23 per week. This is money they just do not have and most can not afford to buy a boat outright and credit simply isn't available given the demand. If you earn a minimum £10,000 per year, you would gross approximately £192.30 per week - 10 times more!!
Please help these families by donating any amount of money, whether a few pounds or enough to buy a single boat, every one of your pennies WILL COUNT!
